Final verification of completed supervision requirements
A Fieldwork Endorsementis the final verification that a supervisee has completed all required supervision hours and met BACB requirements for their credential. It's the supervisor's official attestation that the trainee is ready to apply for certification.
You create endorsements to verify your supervisees have met all requirements and are ready for certification.
You receive endorsements from your supervisor(s) as proof of completed fieldwork for your BACB application.
Step-by-step guide for supervisors
Go to Endorsements from the main navigation menu, then click "New Endorsement".
Choose the supervisee who has completed their fieldwork requirements. Only supervisees with completed periods will be available.
Review the supervisee's completed hours and ensure all requirements are met:
Provide any additional notes about the supervisee's readiness for certification. This is your professional assessment of their competence.
Apply your digital signature to endorse the supervisee. Once signed, the endorsement becomes an official document.
The endorsement has been created but not yet signed. The supervisor needs to review requirements and apply their signature.
The supervisor has signed the endorsement. The document is now official and can be downloaded for the BACB application.
The endorsement has been revoked by the supervisor. This typically happens if issues are discovered after signing or if corrections are needed.
Once an endorsement is signed, both supervisors and supervisees can download the official PDF document.
If a supervisee worked with multiple supervisors during their fieldwork, each supervisor may need to provide a separate endorsement for the hours they supervised.
No. Once signed, an endorsement cannot be modified. If changes are needed, the supervisor must revoke the current endorsement and create a new one.
Contact the BACB directly if your supervisor is unavailable to provide an endorsement. They have procedures for these situations.
Endorsements don't expire, but BACB application requirements may change. Submit your application within a reasonable timeframe after receiving your endorsement.
Attestations are monthly approvals of supervision hours. Endorsements are the final verification that ALL requirements have been completed and the supervisee is ready for certification.
